From staff reports
Tidal Wave Auto Spa of Milledgeville is inviting all dirty vehicles to get squeaky clean and support a local charity as part of the business’ annual Charity Day event held from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
All proceeds will be donated to the Joseph Sams School for special needs children and the Ocmulgee CASA, which provides assistance to abused and neglected children in Milledgeville and the surrounding counties.
Last year, Tidal Wave raised and donated more than $26,000 to charities within the communities it serves during its Charity Day fundraising event at all 13 of its locations across Georgia, Florida, Alabama and North Carolina.
Tidie the Dolphin will be on site today and customers will have a chance to win prizes throughout the day while enjoying free hot-dogs, chips and refreshments.
Car washes range from $5 to $15, which include a rinse, a soap cycle, Black Magic tire shine, Rain-X, triple polish, wheel and tire cleaning, and air-drying system. After vehicles exit from the car wash tunnel, customers can take advantage of the free vacuums. Car care products like Armor All, glass cleaner, air-freshener, interior cleaners and microfiber cloths are also available for purchase from a vending machine.
According to the Tidal Wave Auto Spa web site, the business began in 2004 with the opening of its location on Riverdale Road in Atlanta. Within months of its opening, the Riverdale wash was one of the busiest car washes in the entire Southeast. Tidal Wave Auto Spas provide the best, cleanest, fastest, most courteous, greenest car wash in America by recycling water, even going so far as to capture rainwater during storms for future use.
Tidal Wave was selected by the United States Small Business Administration as the Small Business of the Year for Georgia in 2009.
Open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday, Tidal Wave is located diagonally across from Pickle Barrel Cafe & Sports Pub on N. Columbia Street.
