MILLEDGEVILLE — Longtime friends and Milledgeville residents Alicia Edmonson and Robyn Simpson decided to form a business partnership and provide the community on a low budget with a unique store offering plush trends.

The duo officially opened doors to Charley Mac’s Children’s Consignment Boutique April 21 at 157 Garrett Way in the namesake of their loved pooches.

With business at a steady-flow, Charley Mac’s has been dressing babies through college-aged boys and girls in designer, boutique-style clothing, shoes and accessories, including Strasburg, Gap, Gymboree, Hollister, Abercrombie & Fitch, Lilly Pulitzer, Kelly’s Kids, Ralph Lauren, Vera Bradley and Coach. Baby equipment, crib bedding and children’s furniture are also available at a 25 to 50 percent off the retailed value.

Consignors interested in dropping off items should note that all clothing must arrive in gently-used, like-new condition free of stains, tears and odors. Clothes should be in the current season and in style, preferably purchased within the last two years. Consigned furniture, linens and accessories must also be clean, smoke-free and in working condition. Pricing and tagging will be done in-store and consignors will receive 50 percent of the selling price. Items will be consigned for 90 days after the drop-off date.

Charley Mac’s is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, to 5 p.m. Friday and to 2 p.m. Saturday.
