MILLEDGEVILLE —
All Purpose Moving owner Will Jarriel is a stickler for details.
That attention to detail is how he spent years making sure that 119 Chops operated at top quality. One of those details Jarriel is quick to note is the presence of few, if any, local moving company. That’s where he hopes All-Purpose Moving will fill a need for those in need of moving and relocation services.
“We do total relocation,” Jarriel said. “We handle room-to-room, house-to-house and state-to-state.”
Jarriel purchased All-Purpose Moving from Randale Johnson Enterprises and is running the business as its owner/operator.
“I am the on-site owner and operator,” Jarriel said.
Having been in Milledgeville since 1996, Jarriel considers himself a transplanted local and fosters many business relationships throughout the community. As a former part owner of 119 Chops, Jarriel spent much time with the people in the town he has grown to consider his own.
All Purpose Moving sells a variety of packing material for customers who pack their belongings prior to a move. Jarriel said that if customers prefer, the company can also pack the customer’s belongings for them. The cost of hiring a mover is comparable to renting a moving truck. Jarriel said the difference is a plus for the homeowner who does not have to worry about moving the material.
“We have affordable rates,” Jarriel said. “Why rent a truck when you can pay a couple of hundred extra and have us do all the work?”
All Purpose Moving sells boxes, bubble wrap, wrapping paper, hand trucks and padding for those who need to pack up the interior of a home.
Currently, the company is looking for office space and will likely relocate in downtown Milledgeville.
All-Purpose operates two moving trucks and employs four people. Jarriel said that the company serves every segment of the community.
“We offer student discounts to college students who are moving in or moving back home,” Jarriel said. “No job is too small.”
All-Purpose can even arrange for storage of household goods before or after a move.
With movers in surrounding counties having to make the long trips into Baldwin County before ever getting started on a job, Jarriel hopes the hometown advantage will win him loyal customers.
“I hope everyone shops locally — when it comes to moving, too,” he said.
Jarriel has been working with the same staff for the past year and he believes their combined experience will pay off. Jarriel said the movers take ownership in the services they provide — another detail that makes a difference.
