MILLEDGEVILLE — A man wanted for the murder of a 25-year-old Milledgeville woman was apprehended by investigators with the Milledgeville Police Department Thursday.

Capt. Dray Swicord, chief of detectives with the Milledgeville Police Department, told The Union-Recorder late Thursday evening that 32-year-old Alonzo Roberson, who was wanted for malice murder for nearly three weeks in connection to the murder of Jaquanna L. Freeman on Pennington Road, had been apprehended in Atlanta.

“We put the BOLO out and an anonymous tip came in and he was caught in Atlanta,” he said. “We’ve got him in custody.”

Last week, the police department announced that a $2,000 reward was being offered in conjunction with the Macon Regional CrimeStoppers program for anyone who was able to give investigators information that led to the arrest and conviction of Roberson.

A second reward was announced later in the week for an undisclosed amount for anyone able to give investigators a tip that leads to Roberson’s arrest.
