MILLEDGEVILLE — Georgia College & State University issues statement regarding alleged assault
Georgia College & State University has issued a statement regarding a sexual assault alleged to have been perpetrated by Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
After the victim was identified by the Milledgeville Police Department as a 20-year-old Georgia College student, the university issued the following statement.
We have been informed that a Georgia College student reportedly was the victim of a sexual assault off campus. It is under investigation by the Milledgeville Police Department.
We are very concerned about this incident, and we are making counseling services available to any students who request the services.
The university cannot comment further on the incident while it is under investigation.
Interviews with Roethlisberger and his legal representation are expected to be addressed early next week.
