Baldwin State Prison Inmate Arrested for Murder
MILLEDGEVILLE — Carl Eric Merkerson, an inmate at Baldwin State Prison, was charged with the murder of fellow inmate Terrence Demond Bowen today.
On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the Georgia Department of Corrections requested the assistance of the Milledgeville GBI Office when Bowen was discovered unconscious after an altercation with Merkerson. Bowen was transported to the Medical Center in Macon, Georgia where he died this afternoon.
Merkerson was taken to the Baldwin County Jail for processing on the murder charge and will be transported to Jackson State Prison later today.
